How do you teach a corgi to walk up and down stairs?
I am getting my second corgi, and apparently there is a certain way they should walk down stairs. Any pointers?
Also, any other things that pertain to corgis with their long backs and short legs?
Answer: They will attempt this when they are ready. I agree with others that you do not want them to attempt stairs before it's time. Also, when they do, they tend to want to jump the last few, kind of like a little kid. Makes them feel big or something. You'll know they're ready when you have no say in how and when they go up and down. We were inexperienced with our first corgi and she ended up with back problems in her final years. We have been much more careful with our new two. But they will do what they do when they are ready, and sometimes before just because they think they are bigger than they are. Good luck, take it slow. They will most likely go up, before they go down.
